Keys and a Full Tank of Gas.....

Okay, your comments are welcome, but that doesn't mean we are going to agree or even see close to eye to eye on this subject.

R1ck's X and new husband emailed us yesterday to tell us they think Dev1n should be on birth control, just in case she becomes sexually active. They believe an unwanted pregnancy would be harmful for Dev1n's young body, that she may try to terminate the pregnancy without our knowledge and they do not have the money to support her if she becomes pregnant nor do they feel that the boy she has most recently been with or the boys she seems to be attracted to would stand by her and support her if she were pregnant.

So put her on birth control and all will be well.

Obviously, R1ck and I disagree.

Although, putting her on birth control may help protect her from an unwanted pregnancy, what about STDs and the emotional damage that comes with premartial sex?

Why not just give her some condoms, too. And J0sh. Let's give him some condoms and since he wants to be gangsta, let's give him hand gun lessons so he knows how to correctly shoot someone so the innocent are not harmed.

Sheesh.

I mean maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but I really think putting Dev1n on birth control is more about them than Dev1n. They have not been very involved parents as of late, but are daily sending us emails suggesting things like this. It makes them look like parents if they make suggestions bout things, even though they have no real desire to be involved on a daily basis. They definitely would not be the ones taking care of Dev1n and a baby if she became pregnant. We would. Just like everything else.

It's like putting a band-aid on a geyser.

It is just frustrating to me.

I mean, are they going to put Ca1ty on birth control when she is 14? Or give Al3x condoms when he hits puberty?

Probably not.

I mean, I know Dev1n is spiraling out of control in many ways, but I do not think giving her keys and a full tank of gas to be sexually active is the answer.

I think it is just ridiculous to even be having a debate about birth control for Dev1n.

Things were suppose to be very different.

Very different.

I am sick of snot.
