Well, the end is near. The end of D's pregnancy that is. She is within two weeks of her due date. The X brought pictures from Christmas when she came to visit for C's birthday. D didn't even look pregnant sitting on the stairs in one of the pictures! I think she said she weighs a whopping 120 pounds!
I am not sure I mentioned it here, but she is having a boy. She has been calling him Add1son.
D chose an adoptive family last week. The couple already has a son they adopted 3 years ago. He is a youth pastor and she is a teacher turned stay at home mom. They live 1-2 hours away from her. She has met with them twice now and just feels very comfortable with them. I am glad.
She is however not so excited about the name they have chosen for the baby. It's a family name and they want to use it for the first name. We are hoping they choose to call the baby by his middle name. D kind of hoped that they would incorporate Addis0n into his name somewhere, but knew they may not want to do that.
At her last OB/GYN visit she was 3 cm and 80% effaced. The X sent out an email saying that she would go by this weekend and they would not need to induce on March 1 like planned. No call yet and I do not think she will go before she is induced. The X was induced with D and C, so D will probably need to be, too. But, who knows. The weekend is not over yet. The X has been predicting a 20th birthday, so maybe she'll go then. First babies are unpredictable. Well, all babies are, really.
R is on stand by as far as a flight goes. He will need to confirm his flight as soon as she has been admitted to the hospital or he will get one for February 28 to be there for the induction. Only one of us can go and it can't be me. I just can not handle that kind of trip right now. And I think D really wants her Daddy to be there, so I am glad he is going. I will miss him, but I know it means a lot to D for him to be there.
I think that is it as far as a D update goes. She is still in school doing pace work at the learning center. Once she has the baby she will have 6 weeks of home tutoring and then go back to the learning center to finish out the year. She continues to do really well in school. Praying it stays that way after the baby is born. She has done a 180 and I would hate to see her go back to the way things were before.
