Last night D's exhaustion started to set in along with the reality of the situation. She grew very anxious about her decision and refused to rest or sleep for fear of missing time with the baby.
Early this morning (12 AM-1 AM) they ran some tests on the baby discovering that he has a blood infection and are requiring him to stay at the hospital for another 48 hours - another 8-10 days if the infection is not gone in the 48 hour period. D and the baby were suppose to be released Wednesday morning and the placement ceremony was to take place that afternoon. Now D is wanting to stay with the baby. We do not agree with this as it will only make things harder on her.
The doctor finally gave her a sleeping pill at 2 AM so she could sleep.
Please pray for the infection to be healed quickly and for D to be able to handle the emotions of all of this. Pray for R and the X and the advocate from adoption agency to talk with D and have the right words. Pray for me as I long to be with D during this time. Just please pray.
And not to be forgotten....J apparently skipped school. A friend of his just called on his cell from school to let me know that he heard J and a few other friends talking about leaving school and heading to a punk named R's house. I called the school and he has been marked present for the first few classes, but classes were switching when I called. I have to call back to see if he was marked present or absent for his 3rd period class. If he is not there, I am going to have to go find him.
We should find a producer and get our life syndicated. You can't write this kind of drama even on the best of TV shows.
